A Roman officer legionary's helmet of the , 1st century AD.  Neck protector slightly sloping, with reinforcement bulges on the rim. These also trim the rest of the helmet. Perforated cheek pieces on the sides with double-pinned hinges. The metal is preserved in its original condition. Height with cheek pieces 34 cm. Weight 937 g. An especially well-preserved helmet, extraordinarily rare in this condition, especially with the cheek pieces, which are almost always missing. Provenance: Private collection in the Italy, acquired in the 1940s,
